Maine is such a large state so you may read about southern Maine beaches and crowds and temperatures warmer than 70.  

Take your Maine vacation to NE Maine also called Downeast Maine and enjoy the lobster town of Jonesport Maine where the temperature is rarely above 72 and the ocean water is brilliant blue.

The beach is sandy with rocks but Sea Duck Cottage has private access to the beach with aluminum stairs to allow you to enjoy the sandy beach along the coast of Maine.

Sea Duck Cottage Main House:  3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms

Master: King Size Bed

Guest #1: Queen Size Bed

Guest #2: Queen Size Bed

Master Bath – ensuite with separate soaker tub and shower

Guest Bathroom: combo bath/shower

We do allow up to 2 dogs.  There is a small fee (for extra cleaning) and we do request that you do not allow pets on the furniture or beds, do not leave uncrated if you leave during the day, clean up after your dog outside.  The property is wonderful for taking your pets on walks and enjoying Maine!

Once you book we will give specifics about the location.  Sea Duck Cottage vacation home in located on a private road in Down East Maine.  We are oceanfront with access to a private beach area.  If you rent during the winter months, we require 4 wheel drive.

Yes, we have high speed WIFI throughout the property in Maine.  Enjoy your favorite streamed shows or do a little work or better yet, upload the awesome pictures of Maine to your social media account.

Anytime!  Each season has its own special characteristics.  Summer is by far the most popular time -with sunshine filled days, cool evenings and the sky filled with stars.

Fall is gorgeous with colors turning bright orange or red.  Cooler evenings and brisker days.

No, A/C is not needed in NE Maine!  The highs are 70 and it cool off in the evenings.  We have screens on all the windows and the ocean air definitely cools rooms off.  We also have ceiling fans in every room and portable fans if you need more air!  

We DO have A/C in the LOFT and coming 2025 we will have A/C in the Guest House.  

About 30 feet and with private stairs to the sandy beach.  Water is cold so swimming is for the brave and covered up!  But nice beach walks along the coast of Maine with private access from Sea Duck Cottage is a premium benefit of this property.

Guest House:

The Loft was NEW in 2024 and is a studio one room with a full bathroom that is situated above the Main House.

There is a separate entry and there is A/C in this area.  

Bed:  pull out sofa (not a mattress but a pull out area)

Bathroom:  full shower (rain shower heads) sink, toilet, counter top, etc

Car to Jonesport.  Jonesport is off US-1. 

Plane:  Best airport is Bangor International Airport (BGR).  Most airlines have at least 1 flight to Bangor.  You will need to rent a car and Sea Duck Cottage is about 75 min away.
